THE SCOPE, CLEARLY DEFINED

The right colour is
only the beginning.

Interior home painting starts with the surfaces beneath the colour. We look at walls, ceilings, trim and existing damage, then agree on repairs and preparation before painting. Based in Coquitlam, our team works in homes across the Lower Mainland, from a single room refresh to a coordinated whole-home repaint.

What we can help with

YOUR PROPERTY. YOUR PRIORITIES.
01

Walls & ceilings

Bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms, with finishes selected for how each room is used and how light moves through it.

02

Trim & finishing details

Doors, baseboards, mouldings and other agreed woodwork. These edges and details bring the colour scheme together.

03

Surface preparation & repairs

Discuss damaged walls, wallpaper removal and textured surfaces during the estimate. Existing materials and finishes determine the preparation required.

PLANNING YOUR INTERIOR HOME PAINTING

A complete interior estimate goes room by room.

Interior painting is not a single line item covering everything inside a home. Walls, ceilings, doors and trim can have different preparation and finish requirements. A useful estimate describes the surfaces, their condition and the level of finish you want, including the parts of the room that will stay untouched.

01

Surface repairs and priming

Identify nail holes, damaged corners, recurring cracks, old patches and stains before choosing the finish. New repairs, porous areas or stains may need a different primer approach from sound previously painted walls. Agree on what preparation is included; a fresh coat does not flatten an uneven substrate.

02

Colour, sheen and coverage

Review samples beside flooring, cabinetry and furnishings, in daylight and evening light. A higher sheen can make surface imperfections more noticeable. Strong colour changes and different substrates can affect coverage, so the product and coating approach should be part of the scope rather than an assumed coat count.

03

Living around the work

Tell us which rooms need to remain available, where furniture can go and whether children, pets or home working affect access. Discuss protection of floors and fittings, room order and ventilation arrangements. Drying, recoating and return-to-use timings follow the selected products and conditions.

COST & SCOPE

What affects your interior home painting estimate?

Two homes with the same floor area can need very different amounts of work. Ceiling height, stairwells, doors, woodwork, repairs, colour changes and furniture protection all matter. For a useful comparison, ask each estimate to identify the same rooms and surfaces. You do not need to measure your rooms before contacting us; the scope and any measurements can be discussed as part of the estimate.

COMPLETION & AFTERCARE

At handover.
And after the work.

Review the agreed rooms, trim and repaired areas together. Keep the colour, sheen and product details for future maintenance. Follow the paint manufacturer’s curing and cleaning guidance before washing newly painted surfaces; drying and full cure are different stages.

THE WORK BEHIND THE COLOUR

Prepare carefully.
Finish beautifully.

Small cracks, old patches and uneven surfaces become more noticeable under fresh paint. We review the room before the first coat, identify the repairs included in your estimate, and protect the surrounding space while work is underway.

  • Confirm walls, ceilings, doors and trim in the scope.
  • Agree on furniture movement and protection.
  • Review colour, sheen and existing surface condition.
  • Plan room access and cleanup around your household.

BEFORE THE FIRST CONVERSATION

What should I do before the painters arrive?

Agree on the room sequence and responsibilities before moving anything. A short preparation list helps an occupied-home repaint run more smoothly:

  1. Clear personal items. Remove pictures, fragile objects and loose belongings from the agreed work areas. Confirm who moves large furniture and who puts it back.
  2. Keep access practical. Identify the route for materials, a place for equipment and rooms that need to stay accessible. Discuss children, pets and working from home.
  3. Mark what stays. Point out retained wallpaper, fixtures, flooring and surfaces excluded from painting. Confirm protection arrangements rather than assuming all items can be moved.
  4. Record decisions. Have the agreed colour, sheen and room-by-room surface list available. Tell the team about new damage or other trades that could affect the sequence.

Ask before carrying out your own patching, sanding or priming: unagreed preparation can change the work needed. For a Vancouver condo, also discuss building access and interior painting arrangements.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Your questions,
considered.

A few useful details about interior home painting.

Can you paint just one room?

Yes. We can discuss one room, several connected rooms or a whole-home repaint. Tell us which walls, ceilings and trim you want included.

Do you repair drywall before painting?

We offer drywall repair and installation. Small repairs or larger replacement areas should be identified during the estimate so the painting scope reflects the preparation needed.

Can you help with colours and finishes?

Yes. Ask about colour consultation and suitable finishes for your rooms. Light, existing furnishings and how the room is used all help guide the choice.

Does paint with primer remove the need for preparation?

No. The existing surface still needs to be suitable for the chosen product. Repairs, stains, bare areas and difficult finishes can need a specific primer or other preparation. The assessment should explain what is required instead of relying on a paint-and-primer label.

Are closets, ceilings and doors automatically included?

Only when they are listed in the agreed scope. Make these explicit during the estimate, along with trim, feature walls and any surfaces that should remain unchanged. That prevents a walls-only estimate being compared with a more complete repaint.
