Patches & repairs
Review holes, damaged sections and uneven areas. If moisture caused the damage, its source needs to be addressed before the wall is closed and finished.

COQUITLAM BASED • SERVING THE LOWER MAINLAND

THE SCOPE, CLEARLY DEFINED
Fresh paint will not hide every crack, uneven joint or damaged board. Our Coquitlam-based team provides drywall repairs, new installation and finishing as part of room updates and larger renovations. The estimate identifies the underlying work needed before the final coat of paint.
Review holes, damaged sections and uneven areas. If moisture caused the damage, its source needs to be addressed before the wall is closed and finished.
Drywall installation for renovation projects, with framing, insulation and related details reviewed as part of the agreed scope.
Taping, mudding and surface preparation bring new board or repaired areas toward a finish suitable for the selected paint and room conditions.
PLANNING YOUR DRYWALL REPAIR & INSTALLATION
A small fixing hole, a damaged board and a new ceiling need different work. The estimate should explain whether the project involves patching, replacement, new board, taping and finishing, and whether primer and paint are included. Begin by identifying the cause of the damage, not only its visible size.
Show the team cracks, soft or damaged board, previous patches and any known moisture history. A recurring crack or water-damaged area may need underlying work before cosmetic repair. Agree on who addresses the cause and what condition the area must be in before it is closed and finished.
Discuss the lighting, paint sheen and whether the wall or ceiling is smooth or textured. Side lighting can reveal uneven joints and patches. The finishing expectation should be clear in the scope, including how the repair meets the surrounding surface and how much of the wall will be painted afterward.
For new work, provide plans and any fire, acoustic, insulation or other assembly requirements. These relate to the complete construction, not just the visible board. Structural or building-system work and required inspections need to be resolved before the finish conceals the area.
COMPARE THE SCOPE
| Project area | What needs assessment | What to agree |
|---|---|---|
| Localized patches | Holes, dents and isolated damaged areas | Repair, finishing and the agreed repaint boundary. |
| Board replacement | Extent of damage and any underlying cause | Removal and replacement scope, then finishing stages. |
| New walls and ceilings | Plans, supporting construction and assembly requirements | Specified installation and finishing, with painting separately identified. |
COST & SCOPE
The extent of damage, access, ceiling height, finish expectations and number of work stages affect pricing. Several separate patches can involve different work from one continuous area. Confirm protection, debris handling, drying between finishing stages, priming and the final painting scope before comparing totals.

Inspect the finish under the room’s normal lighting and confirm the included primer or paint stages. Keep any assembly documentation required for the project. If an underlying moisture or movement issue remains unresolved, completing a cosmetic patch is not a substitute for correcting it.

FROM DAMAGE TO A FINISHED SURFACE
A repaired spot and the surrounding wall can differ in texture and appearance. Agree where finishing and painting will stop before comparing a patch-only price with a finished-room quote.
FROM BEGINNING TO END
Know what is included, how the work is planned, and what happens next.
Inspect existing walls or the proposed installation area.
Confirm board, supporting work and finishing requirements.
Complete the agreed installation, taping and surface work.
Review the finished surface and the next stage.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
A few useful details about drywall repair & installation.
Yes. Drywall repairs and the following primer and paint can be scoped together. Confirm which stages are included in your estimate.
Yes. We assess drywall needs in residential, commercial and industrial properties, with access and project requirements discussed beforehand.
Textured ceiling work can be reviewed during the estimate. The age and condition of the material, including any assessment needed before disturbing it, will affect the proposed work.
The outcome depends on the surrounding texture, substrate, lighting, preparation and paint finish. Discuss the expected result and repaint boundary before work starts. Matching an aged colour or texture exactly should not be assumed from a patch-only estimate.
Finishing materials must be ready for the next stage, and the surface needs suitable preparation and primer for the coating system. The schedule should allow for the actual materials and conditions instead of treating board installation as the final painting-ready step.
Ask the estimate to distinguish the repair area from the repaint area. A small repair can still call for a larger repaint boundary to manage differences in colour, sheen or texture. The choice depends on the existing finish and the result agreed during assessment.
